Brandýs nad Labem
The town of Brandýs nad Labem - Stará Boleslav is situated on both banks of the Labe River near the Prague agglomeration and forms one of the historical centres of the Polabí region. The new connection would create an alternative for pedestrians and cyclists to the inadequate connection across the General Liška Bridge and would build on the current network of paths leading along traffic-calmed routes (e.g. Husova alej in the direction leading from Stará Boleslav) to the canal or ul. U Hluchova, which in turn leads to the Houšt'ka recreational area.
The place is directly connected to the historical part of the town with the castle, the old mill and the remains of the stone bridge. It is crossed by the 2nd Labe cycle path, which connects to the riverside path by a ramp. The new footbridge should follow the historical traces of the original bridge.
The superstructure is designed as an arch bridge structure with an upper bridge deck. The structure of the arch and the bridge deck are designed from very high strength prestressed concrete of class C120. The bridge deck is supported by steel swing struts based on the upper surface of the arch. At the top of the arch, the bridge deck is firmly connected to the arch. The supporting arch is designed to be structurally indeterminate - embedded in the foundations. The superstructure is designed as a longitudinally split structure, assembled on site from large prefabricated units, due to the material used.
The transverse section of the concrete parts of the bridge (arch and bridge deck) is designed as a two-frame bridge structure with slender inlaid side cantilevers and a system of stiffening transverse ribs. The upper surface of the footbridge is designed as a direct sloping surface, without the use of additional waterproofing, with a roughening foil embedded in the formwork.
